Birthday Party

Last Saturday we were at Tyler's first birthday party. he is my cousin Heather son. He did a very good job, because he, like Emily, is a little overwhelmed at our parties. He tried sharing his kitchen toys, Tupperware and Rubbermaid containers with Emily, but she didn't mind when he took them away. She is use to that already. Both girls wore their Brewer dresses and celebrated another Brewer win. Tyler got some great presents and Stephanie and her cousin Charlie loved the car. Stephanie had a lot of trouble sharing this. It may have also been because it was another day where she didn't nap. Those days are becoming more and more frequent. Tyler also picked the shot glass in a little first birthday tradition that we all have done. You put a rosary, shot glass, and a dollar bill in front of them and she what they grab first. He did put it down right away and got the rosary afterwards. Stephanie picked the rosary but I can see Emily going for the shot glass. Few more months and we'll see. We had to leave the party fairly early since we had 2 very tired kids. Thankfully they went right to sleep.

Looks like you all had a good time from the pictures.
I'm wondering where your family tradition of picking between a rosary, shot glass, & dollar bill began? Do you only do this on the child's 1st birthday? Sounds interesting.
Love to all. Linda

Yes, we only do that on the first birthday and I don't know where it came from. I will have to ask about that since it was just something we always did.
