Drawing a picture

Stephanie has been drawing more and now loves using her magna doodle. She got it for Christmas but it has been at Nanna and Grandpa's house for a while so she is happy to have it back. She does like to use the pen the wrong way just because she knows it's wrong and I'll try to correct her. Once she does use it the correct way she is proud of any scribbles she can make.

We are having a????????

Profile of baby's face. Baby is looking towards the right.

Baby from further away. Head is a the left, back is at the bottom, and legs going towards the right.

I had an appointment this morning for my ultrasound and after dreaming all week about not finding out what we are having or my appointment being cancelled (the snow now had me very worried) baby cooperated and we found out we are going to have a GIRL. That was the way I was leaning since this pregnancy has been similar to my last one and I was trying to look for differences. But baby measured pretty much right on schedule and had a good heartbeat of 144. So hopefully when I go see the doctor in 2 weeks she will tell me everything else looked great. It was very cute to see her waving and moving around even though I couldn't really feel it. Soon enough I'm sure. It was great to have both Jeff and Alle there to share in the excitement. Now I can go get Stephanie's clothes out of storage and put them in the baby's room so it looks more like a baby's room than a guest room.

What happened to my late sleeper??

Stephanie has some crazy hair in these pictures due to some wild sleeping I'm assuming. She has been sleeping through the night but for some reason most of this week she has been up by 6-6:30. Way to early for me!! She used to sleep until 8-8:30 with an occasional 7:30 wake up. So this has her schedule totally off because then she is tired by 9:30 for a nap where she normally wouldn't nap until after lunch. I'm not sure what has gotten her messed up but I'm ready for it is go back like it was before.

Not always in pink

Since everyone thinks that Stephanie's closet only consists of pink here is one of her outfits that has no pink in it. The shirt is more of a melon/orange color so it's not even a shade of pink. There aren't a lot of pants she can wear that shirt with since it doesn't have pink in it. Those black pants are used often for the clothes that don't go with jeans, khakis, or pink. Since she is in between sizes on her pants again she doesn't have jeans that fit her now so that leaves even less options. She could care less though, she loves running around the house in her onesie.

Stephanie loves hugs

Stephanie has been into hugs for the last month or so but her hugs extend to everything. She will hug her fork at lunch because Hello Kitty is on it and she will hug one of her balls because it has a smiley face on it. It is all so cute to see that she loves so many things and isn't biased on who gets her love. It doesn't mean that she is always loving though since she will give her hugs on her terms when she wants to. But I would say most of the time she is willing to share one of her precious hugs with others sooner than later. Hopefully that love continues when the new baby arrives.

Stephanie has lost her appetite

Besides not liking her bottles when she was a baby Stephanie has always been a great eater. Ever since she could have people food she would eat all the time. She has been known to say "num num" 10 minutes after getting out of her highchair. She also will stare at anyone else eating if she doesn't have any food. We always joked "where does she put it" because she is tall and skinny. But in the last week she has lost her appetite. She won't eat her favorite foods or new foods and will want to get out of her chair after ten minutes or so. Were thinking it could be because of more teeth coming in since she was drooling a lot today and had her fingers in her mouth more than usual. At least I am hoping that is the case because everyone knows I don't want her to have my picky eating habits. It's been great that she has more of an appetite like Jeff and has not been picky at all. Hopefully this doesn't last and she will go back to eating better soon.

Round and round

Stephanie has found out how fun it is to go round and round and round. She will fall down afterwards and be fine or try running which has almost led to some bad crashes. We try telling her she can go round and round but it will make her dizzy and she can't run afterwards but her understanding of that isn't quite there yet. Hopefully she will understand it soon before she hurts herself. It is very cute to watch because she does laugh at herself when she is going round and round.

Stephanie has been trying to talk more and in the past week or two she has been saying something that sounded like "I do" or "I you". Today I figured it out because I kept saying "Happy Valentine's Day, I love you." Then she would respond with her "I you". So she is trying harder to communicate and I can't wait for her to say "I love you". She had a good Valentine's day and was even given a piece of chocolate which was eaten right up and then she even grabbed for more. Only one this year.

Stephanie has a lot of hair

Stephanie had a night with her Auntie Alle as Jeff and I had a evening out. Alle was in town for drill and offered to watch Stephanie so we could go out for a change. We made it out for dinner and were back home by 9:00 but at least we had a nice dinner alone. Stephanie didn't even know we were gone and was on her best behavior foe Alle. While we were gone Alle put her hair in a ponytail and it just looks so cute. She looks likes such a big girl with her hair up. Alle said she sat there and let her brush her hair and put it into a pony without any fuss. I' m glad she took lots of pictures.

Fascinated with eyes, nose, ears, and feet (and hugs)

Stephanie has been playing with her doll and loves to point out the eyes on her doll and give hugs to her. But what she loves more is pointing out eyes, nose, mouth and ears on everyone else. It is very cute and she does it constantly so you have to be ready when you are holding her since you could get a finger in the eye. I also need to make sure her nails are trimmed since I've had my ear scratched a few times today. It is all very cute to see what she is learning.

Extra car seat

We had Stephanie's extra car seat in the hallway after it was used at Nanna and Grandpa's recently and all of a sudden Stephanie wanted to keep sitting in it. It's not like she isn't in the car enough going to work and taking the kids places but now she wants to be in the seat an home. She does sit pretty well in the car and now was enjoying the car seat at home. She was trying to get in the seat by climbing over the side and was getting very frustrated when she couldn't get in that way. She eventually gave up and just climbed in the regular way.

New blog instead of webpage

As I uploaded Stephanie's new webpage I noticed that I am running out of room on that site and starting thinking about what happens when the new baby comes. There wouldn't be any room for pictures of 2 children if I am running out of room with only a few months in with Stephanie on the webpage. So I thought I would try this since a friend of mine has one and I love reading it (thanks Kim). It seems like a great place to share pictures and stories of what Stephanie is doing plus a rememberence for me. I will just have to try to keep it more up to date.
