Now she has a drill to go with her toolbox
She blew out her candles
Singing to herself

Sweet big sister
Emily has been looking forward for a long time for the summer. She new once summer came it meant her birthday, the beach, and vacation. Even though it's not time for vacation yet we did go to the beach on her birthday. We were planning on going to the zoo but on her birthday she decided she didn't want to and then finally decided on the beach. She had a blast. We didn't have a long time to spend there since we got a late start but she loved making sand castle after sand castle and getting water in her bucket from the lake. She didn't want to go swimming too much in the lake but she did give it a try. Now she knows vacation is close by and then it will be time for her to start school. She did ask for winter though this week. I think she's been listening to Jeff a little bit. She is very excited to go to school at the end of August. She has been very jealous of all the things that Stephanie brings home from school she can't wait to be doing her own projects at school. She is going to have so much fun. I can't believe she is going to be ready for school in a month. She will go 2 mornings a week at a Lutheran school. She is growing too fast. She is now 36.25" and around 29-30lbs.
She has quite the personality and says the funniest things. She has a wonderful imagination and such a character. She loves to help everyone. She will cook with me, help Stephanie with whatever she may need, and will also help watch Matthew if I leave him playing while I get up for a minute. She is a great big sister and adores Matthew. She also loves to learn more signs that Stephanie uses with her therapists. I started taking her to her own mommy and me gymnastics/dance class this summer because she was getting jealous of all the "teachers" that came to play with Stephanie everyday. She kept saying "my teachers are coming on Tuesday" or "do you know who's at the door Mommy, my teachers are here". So I needed to give here some more one on one attention. She also is doing her swim lessons this summer and is doing a great job. She loves going (even though the water isn't very warm) and looks forward to it every week. Hopefully she'll be ready for the lake water in a few weeks on vacation.
She still loves to sing and if I start singing to Matthew she tells me to stop so she can sing. She does love being in charge. A few of her favorites are; ABCs, Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle, Wheels on the Bus, Itsy bitsy spider, Rock a bye baby, and Mr. Sun. She has gotten very good at jigsaw puzzles and got a new on for her birthday. She can do it herself after a few times if she is paying attention and is looking at what she is doing. She also got a drill and some bubbles besides the joint kitchen present. She loved going around fixing things with her new drill. I had to think of things that needed fixing every few seconds. She knows her colors and can count to 20 with a few misses in the teens. It has been wonderful having her potty trained and just recently she has been dry at night. She is still wearing her patch on her glasses 2 hours everyday and goes back to the eye doctor at the end of August. She never complains about any of that. She does pretend to put her contacts in when I do though. She loves to use my camera to take pictures of everyone and everything. This is how I have made it in some pictures recently. She is getting pretty good at it too.
She still takes a nap a few times a week and usually doesn't object when it's nap time. Sometimes she plays in her crib instead of sleeping but as long as she gets some quiet time that's good enough. She sleeps with her blanket, baby, and now an Elmo. The first 2 are a necessity, the 3rd one changes from time to time. She has no desire for a big girl bed and says she's not big enough for a bed yet. I have no desire to move her until she's ready. She is sharing a room with Matthew and at first wasn't so sure but now she likes it. She wasn't too fond of losing her pink curtains but got some new adorable animals curtains from Nanna that she already loves. She would have a whole room of pink if it was her choice. She is a very girly girl. In dresses, wants makeup, party shoes, and very emotional. But she does love her tools and sports too. She can cry at the drop of a hat some days. But that's a girl for you. She is an adorable, loving, smart, independent, caring little girl. She brings so much joy and happiness to our lives. Happy Birthday Emily. Have fun being 3. We love you.
