I love the state fair and look forward to it every year. Our family vacation is around the same time as the fair so there aren't many days to choose from. So we went the day before our vacation and it worked out fine, until it started to rain. At least it didn't rain until the afternoon so we had done most everything by then. The girls were very good and had a good time. Emily loved seeing the animals and getting up close to them. We had baked potatoes, an elephant ear, a sundae, chocolate chip cookies, corn on the cob, and a cream puff. Now it doesn't sound like too much. The kids eat some grill cheese sandwich too. No chocolate covered bacon on a stick for us. The threat of rain didn't keep the crowds away but thankfully we were there early enough that I was able to go through the exhibition booths this year. Didn't buy anything but it was good to see them and not have to fight the crowd with the double stroller.
