The kids had a good 4th and we took them to their first parade. They sat very nicely and don't realize about the candy being thrown out yet so they were happy to just wave their flags. We went to the Waukesha parade with Christian's family and we saw Noah march in the parade. After the parade we came home for lunch and nap, even though Stephanie didn't nap. It would have been nice since we were going the fireworks that night but it all worked out fine. We went to the fireworks with a lot of my family and the kids love seeing everyone there. We go to a park in Greenfield and they could see the slide and swings from where we were sitting and were desperate to go on them. I took them over there and that was a mistake. There were so many kids and so many parents not watching their kids that they were just running and pushing all around. It was impossible to watch both kids because Emily was going slow because of all the kids but Stephanie was going faster and I couldn't watch them both. So we went back to get Jeff but Emily didn't want to go up without me and kids were just going all around her because she was going slow. So we went back to the blankets and tried to distract them with some snacks and water. Thankfully the fireworks weren't too far off. As soon as they saw one of the ones they set off to get you ready for them they kept asking for more. Once they started they loved the ground fireworks because they were very loud and bright. The fireworks kept Stephanie's attention for about 5 minutes and Emily's a little longer. So they kept looking around and weren't interested until the grand finale. Of course they wanted more as soon as it was over. When we talk about them now they want to go back for more fireworks. Not sure if we will see anymore this year though. I'm glad we didn't go downtown to the Lake front fireworks since those were over an hour long. They would have never made it. Overall if was a great 4th all around.
